Safari Sudan

Safari Sudan offers a seven day study and cultural tour. For clients who are in Egypt Safari Sudan can collects clients in Aswan in its Antonov 26 plane. At Dongola clients transfer to its Antonov 2 bi-plane.

Alternately Clients joining the tour from Khartoum are flown directly to Dongola in the AN-2.

The flight continues for the next days to trace the Nile from the northern Nubian village of Soleb which lies alongside the Nile. During this tour clients visit in each location archaeological sites which date from the third millennium BC, the Nubian kingdom of Kerma, and the Pharaonic, Napatan , Meroitic and post-Meroitic eras. The tour overnights in modern camps near archaeological sites and the Nile river. Walk in tented camps with full ablution and catering services are provided.

Day 1
Fly north to Soleb to overnight at the Safari Sudan compound alongside the temple of Soleb. After sight seeing this spectacular site built for Pharaoh Amenophis III (1400 - 1370 BC), enjoy a traditional Nubian evening meal.
Day 2
Travel to Kerma Deffufa to visit one of the oldest settlements in Sub-Saharan Africa. After lunch fly over spectacular sand dunes alongside the Nile to Old Dongola. After refreshments at the Old Dongola tented camp enjoy a guided tour by jeep of the early Christian capital of the kingdom of Makouria.
Dinner and overnight at the Safari Sudan tented camp.
Day 3
Fly to Merowe to see the sites of Jebel Barkal, El Kurru, and the petrified forest in the desert.
In the afternoon overfly pyramids which mark the Royal Cemetery at Nuri. Cross the Bayuda desert to arrive at Safari Sudan tented desert camp near Musawwarat es-Sufra.

Day 4
Sightsee the Musawwarat es Sufra complex. Lunch at camp. In the mid-afternoon drive to Naga to sightsee its series of exceptional temples. Return to camp for dinner. Overnight in tented camp.
Day 5
After breakfast fly to the former capital of Meroe for a guided tour of its town, temples and necropolises. Travel from Meroe to Khartoum. Transfer to hotel. Evening free.
Day 6
Visit the National Museum and the historic house of Abdullah Khalifa, Omdurman and other key sites. Return to the hotel.
Day 7
Transfer to airport for departure from Sudan.
